Houff Transfer is hiring Local Mileage Drivers in Weyers Cave, Richmond, Covington, Winchester, and Williamsburg VA, Baltimore MD, & Concord NC. These drivers usually operate within 250 miles of your home terminal. Local Mileage drivers are home most nights, but must be prepared to spend a night in the sleeper occasionally. Pay ranges from $58,000-$68,000 a year. Work shifts are available most days of the week. Standard shift is five days, but three or four days shifts are also available. Early morning, evening, and night start times are available.
A minimum of one year of recent driving experience is required, and well qualified drivers will have even more driving experience. Hazmat endorsement is required within 90 days, and a TWIC card after 90 days. No criminal history, failed drug tests, or DUI’s in the last seven years. You need to have an excellent driving record. A stable work history over the last five years is desirable. A good knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic geographic area is needed as well as experience with sliding tandems on trailers to adjust weights and ability to operate manual or automatic transmissions is beneficial.
